It's a top!

I  received my last two blocks in the mail this past weekend, so I was super motivated to get the top completed.  I'm hoping to take it on the road with me for my first recruiting trip so I can stitch in my hotel room in the evenings.

It measures 64" x 85.5" - big enough to cover a twin bed with 10" of drape on both sides and the bottom of the bed.

Definitely big enough to cuddle up in on the porch as I look out on the morning rain.

Thanks for helping me make this quilt!  I've had an inspiration photo saved on my computer since 2006!

For Robyn

Robyn, thank you, thank you, thank you, for not making us do Y Seams!!!  When I saw your block photo I thought, "Uh oh, I'm going to screw this up!" but your instructions were very clear and I couldn't wait to play with the pretty fabric so I jumped right in.  I've never done diamonds before, so it took me two tries to figure out how to position the two pieces so that the seams line up, but once I did, it was smooth sailing from then on out.  Your blocks will go in the mail today - can't wait to see the finished product.

To Bailey

Boy, Bailey, this block kept me on my toes!  I had to stop several times to focus, I was so worried I'd sew something into the wrong spot.  But how lovely it is!!!  It is on its way to Idaho now.  I can't wait to see the whole thing put together.  Thanks for letting me play with your pretty fabrics!

String Star quilt coming along nicely

I received 3 more squishy packages from Sara, Carolyn and Bailey - thanks guys!

Look how great my quilt is looking! I need to knock out a couple more blocks and put this top together. I think this is one that will become a real quilt sooner rather than later - I'm so excited about it!

From Shannon to Erin

I have finished, mailed off, and heard back from Erin that she has received her blocks from me. Here are pictures of them.

Coming soon to a mailbox near you!

I spent part of the weekend prepping the fabric and instructions for June, and I'm taking them all to the post office today.

When you open your package, please don't think, "Man, this lady can't match fabrics to save her life!" I chose a super scrappy project to help me tame some of my overflowing scrap bins, so there is no rhyme or reason to the scraps you received. The block is quick and easy, nearly mindless sewing. I look forward to getting your blocks back from you so I can finally put together this quilt I've had my eye on for years!

Catching up....

I want to apologize to everyone for I have fallen quite behind in my blocks!

Melissa-- I actually have TWO blocks for you, the block I made, and one that was accidentally sent to me instead of you! I had them all packaged up into an envelope, but didn't realize until today while trying to organize all that I need to catch up on (my kitchen table/sewing area is a catastrophe!) that I never took them to the post office! So, a very special apology to you, those will be whipping their way to you.

To Erin, Jadie, and Toni-- I haven't received fabric for your blocks, and it occurred to me that perhaps the email was missed a few months ago updating my address? If it was sent to the Texas address (the ex says I received a few envelopes there) then I am afraid I may possibly never get it (supposedly the stuff was forwarded to me, but that was a month ago and it's not here yet so I am not holding my breath). Please email me, ladies, so I can make it up to you!

Charlene-- I DID get your fabric, so that block will be made and sent out ASAP.

Thankyou all for not writing me off, or casting me out yet. I know I have been the worst swap partner this year :( I definitely bit off more than I can chew out of life this year.

To Jorie and Kate - Group B

Your blocks are on their way! I hope you like them. I didn't square them up; I usually leave that for the person receiving the block so they can square all their blocks up to the same exact size. Also, sorry for the delay - lots of travel taking me away from home this month.

Sneak peek for Kate (I accidentally wrote Katie on the envelope - hope that isn't one of your pet peeves):

3 Gorgeous New Blocks

Here is the first of three wonderful blocks I received in the mail yesterday.

This block is from Tiffany, Pink Sweet Treats.  Don't you just love the wonky look in this one?!?!  Thanks, Tiffany!!

This beautiful star block is from Erin, My Patchwork Life.  I love stars and this purple one is perfect.  Thanks, Erin!!

This beautiful block come from Toni, The Quilting Pirate.  She said that the block pattern came from the latest Quilt Makers 100 Blocks Volume 2 and it is #155, Star Flight.  Doesn't it show off the fabric wonderfully?  Thanks, Toni!!

I am  having so much fun checking the mail every day to see if more blocks have arrived.  Each block is so very special.  They are going to make a beautiful scrappy quilt!
