Sorry all. I haven't gotten a chance to post all of my blocks yet. I had planned to do it this week, but I ended up in the hospital for a few days. As I recover, I hope to get Carolyn's block for June done. Sorry I haven't gotten it out yet. Thanks for understanding!
I sent this block to Mollie last week (way late - so sorry Mollie!). She should have it by now, but I'll still just post a sneak peek and let her post the full picture if she wants to when she gets it for sure or you can see the full block now over at my blog
Hi everyone! I am so sorry that I have not posted the blocks I have received yet. First, my laptop video card is on its way out, so I was using my dad's computer. Then the internet went out, and I have been using my phone for everything internet related-- which makes reading the blog possible but posting impossible. I finally just decided to use my laptop again, but with the video card going out it makes everything black or dark in color on my screen show up with horrid reddish/pink lines through it. It's extremely hard on the eyes! *sigh*
Anyway, I have received six blocks so far, and they are all amazing!
These blocks are from (Top Row L-R) Charlene, Linda, Toni, (Bottom Row) Jadie, Erin, and Debra. I know I have shown three of them already, but I wanted to showcase all of them together! I am so excited to see how they are going to all come together, I love it so far!
I haven't had the opportunity to thank everyone individually, or to post my blocks receive so I'd like to do it now . The blocks I've received are just lovely, thank you so much everyone.
Blocks (l-r each row) are from Toni, Charlene, Erin, Jadie, Melissa and Linda. I hope I haven't muddled up any name/block combos. Thank you so much. I've ordered my border and sashing fabrics and I think my quilt will be just exactly what I had in mind. :)
Canada Post is rotating their strike to different cities and only being out for 2 days at each one. It was in Edmonton (where I live) for the last 48 hours and now is in Calgary (south of Edmonton by 3 hours). I think it should be safe to send my bee blocks - If you are done - NO PRESSURE!! There is lots of time left for this month!! For those of you who have finished the block, thank you for your patience in sending them. Thank you, Carolyn
Dear Mollie, I ran out of your fabric because apparently I have no concept of how much fabric is needed to make little squares! I have done my very best to make it up to you and I really hope you will forgive me! Canada Post is on strike so I will post this as soon as it is over. Here is your sneak peek:
Hi all my Bee Block Friends! There is a postal strike in Canada so if you have not sent your block to me - please hang onto it for another week or so. Canada Post does not have a very good track record of getting mail to the correct address on a non strike day. I fear my blocks will be lost and gone forever now that nothing is getting delivered.
If you have sent your block, please say a little prayer that it gets here. ha ha I'm sure it will, eventually =) Cheers, Carolyn
I made Carolyn's Bee Block this morning. Still need to do the embroidery on it, but here is a peek. I totally in love with this block and am going to find it traumatic to send it away! Carolyn's fabrics are so bright and pretty, she is going to have a really amazing quilt!
Your blocks are on their way! I hope you like them. I didn't square them up; I usually leave that for the person receiving the block so they can square all their blocks up to the same exact size. Also, sorry for the delay - lots of travel taking me away from home this month.
Sneak peek for Kate (I accidentally wrote Katie on the envelope - hope that isn't one of your pet peeves):
Sneak peek for Jorie:
Thanks for letting me play with your beautiful fabrics!
I checked the mail yesterday after the long weekend, and I had THREE blocks in the mailbox! What a rush of excitement! Here are the three of them together:
I love that Jadie (top right) and Toni (bottom) thought along the same lines with theirs, and Linda's (top left) is so neat next to them in contrast! I can't wait to see the rest of the blocks and see how well they all fit together! Thanks so much everyone :)
It has come to my attention that I may not have sent enough fabric for some of you to make the blocks you wanted to... If that is the case, I do not at all mind sending more fabric! This was my first bee, so I tried to base how much I sent off of how much I had received in other months and how much I used to make my 12" blocks but I guess I was still a bit short! I'm sorry!
