Today's The Day!

Today's the day that your Bee blocks are due out in the mail for March.  Hopefully they are all making their way back to their hostesses or have already arrived at their destination.  If you are going to be late posting your block, please let your hostess know.

Debra's Block For Robyn

I was trying to figure out what to do with this gorgeous fabric and I came up with a Chinese Lantern Block. I hope you like it. It will be in the mail tomorrow.

Block for Tiffany

Here is my block for Tiffany. Fortunately I got it done before the end of the month.

Next month is my month. I kept thinking about what I would like everyone to make for me. I finally decided to leave the block choice up to each person. I used a layer cake and sent 3 layer cake squares and some white Kona cotton for background.

I am really excited about receiving blocks from everyone!

Tiffany, I am sorry that I have not posted about your block. It is on it's way to you.
I dropped your block in the mail on Friday. Here is a sneak peek.
I had fun playing with making a wonky star block. It was my first one. Shannon

Sneak Peek for Tiffany

I'm not sure why it took me so long to decide on a block pattern....
...but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Hope you like it.

Block for Robyn

Going in the mail for you today:)
I hope you like this block! As soon as I saw the fabrics you sent, it was the first one to pop into my head!

Kate's Block & A Reminder

Over the weekend I received Kate's block for January in the mail.  She has been having a lot going on in her life so she was a little behind.  But that's okay because it made it to me.  However, when I received it, it came like this........

I just hate it when I see this envelope in the mailbox.  The postal people always make it sound like this couldn't have ever been their fault.  YUCK!

But luckily Kate had slipped the contents of the envelope into a sealed bag as I had suggested to all of my Bee members.  None of the nasty, icky, sticky, who-knows-what-it-is stuff could get through to the precious fabrics.

Kate was a bit behind but the wait was worth it.  She made me this wonderful block and included a cute little note.  Love the block, Kate!

So now you have proof positive as to why it is important to put your blocks and scraps in a plastic bag or wrap in up in plastic wrap.

Block for Tiffany!

Good thing I finished this block last night because I went to the eye dr today and he dialated me.  If anything is mispelled Im sorry.

When I get dialated its all over for more then 4+ hours.  The screen is way too bright.  On top of that he gave me new contacts that are bifocals.  Im getting old :o(
I hope Tiffany likes this. I used this set of templates I bought sometime in the 90s and uncovered recently.
They had suggestions for blocks.
Im glad I use them because they have these neat corners which eliminate cutting of little dog ears and line up the pieces nicely.  And boy did it have a lot of pieces.  Now I have to go lie down and close my eyes and I guess I wont be finishing my two Block Swap Adventure blocks until tomorrow evening so they will get sent out 1 day late.

Robyn's block

Robyn, I am truly sorry that I didn't follow the directions in your letter. It was so simple yet I messed up. Please forgive me and give me another chance to do the block correctly.

I just got up enough courage to post this apology to Robyn. I mailed the Bee package this morning and emailed Robyn about my terrible blunder. Hopefully, she forgives me and accepts the block b/c it somehow fits her plan or sends me more of the focus fabric so I can make another block.
Working with the fabric she sent was up-lifting when my spirits needed a lift and a reason to smile. I enjoyed working with the fabrics and colors she sent and finding others in my stash. Not a scrap was wasted but I still goofed with the fabric placement b/c I was not focused. Still I love the way the block looks, but it does not follow the guidelines she sent. I do sincerely apology to her.

EEK! Thank you Bailey!

Lovely Bailey sent me not one, but two, beautiful blocks!  She was worried, the second one is a little small (barely) - but I'm going to add a small border on that baby and use it on the quilt top!

Thank you so much Bailey!  These squishies are fun! :D

Star Sneak Peek

I made one star block for Tiffany:

And then, because I was having such fun and there was plenty of extra fabric, I decided to make another.
It didn't turn out exactly as planned, but I hope she can make it work. I'll post full pictures on my blog, so Tiffany, if you want to be surprised...don't look at the post on my blog :)

Enjoy your day!

I Have a Great Start

Ladies, I just wanted you to see my good start on High Cotton that you've given me.

I'm SO excited!  Your blocks are all so wonderful and I'm just energized to get this quilt together.  It's going to be so wonderful!  Thank you SO much for all your amazing piecing!

A Block for Tamera

It finally got there! I love living in a rural area but the mail is sometimes slow in arriving  and being delivered. This was another block that stretched my self-imposed box but I was proud of how it came out. I hope Tamera likes it and that it fits in her quilt.

A Happy Mailbox

Ladies, it is only the first week of the month and I am already overwhelmed by your skill and creativity.

Jadie was completely ahead of the game. Her block arrived on Monday when it wasn't even my month yet. Wow!
Toni's block arrived today and is overwhelmingly gorgeous. This one block has me wanting to make an entire quilt out of kimono blocks.

Erin's package also arrived today with not just one but two beautiful blocks! These are both just fantastic!

I absolutely love what you ladies are doing with my fabrics.
=D
