I couldn't wait til October!

Gosh, how I love working on Bee blocks!  I get to satisfy my Quilters ADD, working on something new, but without having to commit to a whole quilt!  So when Sara's package arrived yesterday, I knew it wouldn't be long until I tackled her block.  Super easy, and something I've never done before.  Looking forward to seeing what the whole quilt looks like, Sara!

Blocks for August & September

I have received back 8 of the ten blocks that I sent out. I made 2 so when they arrive I will be able to make a small quilt 36 by 48 plus borders.  I am thinking that I will make 8 more blocks to make this quilt a twin to donate to Krewe of Quilters Charity. The problem is I only have 16 bugs so I need those 2 blocks to do so.
I finished Septembers blocks for Robyn. I have to have seams that interlock and it was just a matter of ironing direction. The blocks came together nicely after I made my mock up to mess up on. LOL

It's a top!

I  received my last two blocks in the mail this past weekend, so I was super motivated to get the top completed.  I'm hoping to take it on the road with me for my first recruiting trip so I can stitch in my hotel room in the evenings.

It measures 64" x 85.5" - big enough to cover a twin bed with 10" of drape on both sides and the bottom of the bed.

Definitely big enough to cuddle up in on the porch as I look out on the morning rain.

Thanks for helping me make this quilt!  I've had an inspiration photo saved on my computer since 2006!

Waiting on One

Waiting on One, a photo by bailchri on Flickr.

I'm still waiting for one block to come back to me. Unfortunately I can't even piece these that I do have together yet because I want to try to balance color at least a little bit and I have no way to know what fabric combo is in the block I'm still waiting on. Hoping it's here before too long.

For Robyn

Robyn, thank you, thank you, thank you, for not making us do Y Seams!!!  When I saw your block photo I thought, "Uh oh, I'm going to screw this up!" but your instructions were very clear and I couldn't wait to play with the pretty fabric so I jumped right in.  I've never done diamonds before, so it took me two tries to figure out how to position the two pieces so that the seams line up, but once I did, it was smooth sailing from then on out.  Your blocks will go in the mail today - can't wait to see the finished product.
